Frequently Asked Questions
A chemical peel is a professional skin rejuvenation treatment designed to refresh and revitalize your complexion. By using a high-grade exfoliating solution, it gently removes the outer layers of skin, promoting healthy cell turnover. The result? A brighter, smoother, and more even-toned appearance.
Chemical peels work by removing the outer layers of skin, stimulating healthy skin cell turnover to unveil a brighter, smoother, and more even-toned complexion.
With the Illuminize Peel®, most clients see noticeable improvements within 24 hours, with minimal to no visible peeling. In contrast, the Vitalize Peel® and Rejuvenize Peel™ are more intensive treatments, typically causing mild to moderate peeling that begins around the second day post-treatment and lasts for 2 to 5 days.
Remember:
- Avoid picking or pulling at your peeling skin. Let it peel naturally at its own pace to prevent the risk of scarring or hyperpigmentation.
- Follow all post-procedure instructions diligently. It is crucial to stay out of the sun once the peel has been applied and throughout the peeling process.
- Starting the next day, and throughout the peeling process, apply a gentle moisturizer regularly to manage the peeling. Be sure to use sunscreen consistently during the peeling period and for at least one week afterward. This is crucial in making sure you get the best possible results.
Illuminize Chemical peels can be used to treat the face. Vitalize and Rejuvenize Peels can be used to treat skin on the face, neck, and chest.
Reactions can vary depending on your tolerance. It is normal to experience sensations ranging from tingling to mild burning during the treatment. To ensure your comfort, a handheld fan will be provided, and any initial discomfort typically subsides within a few minutes.
The amount of downtime and peeling depends on the type of peel you choose. The Illuminize Peel® requires no downtime, with little to no visible peeling for most clients. On the other hand, the Vitalize Peel® and Rejuvenize Peel™ involve minimal downtime, with mild to moderate peeling beginning on the second day after treatment and lasting 2 to 5 days. To ensure optimal results, it is essential to strictly avoid sun exposure on the day of your peel and to consistently apply sunscreen while avoiding direct sunlight during the first 7 days post-treatment. You may use moisturizer to nourish your skin and control peeling during the peeling process but must avoid picking or pulling the peeling skin.
Once your skin has fully healed, you can look forward to a complexion that appears radiant, rejuvenated, and vibrant, with visible improvements in both tone and texture.
