Our Medical Advisory Board

Tara Margarella, DO, is an accomplished aesthetic surgeon and clinician. She has spent her career partnering with clients to achieve optimal aesthetic results and working with pharmaceutical and device companies to deliver treatments that better meet the needs of aesthetic physicians and patients.

As Chief Medical Officer at Ideal Image, she drives the medical strategy and directs the medical initiatives for North America’s #1 medical aesthetics provider. Dr. Margarella leads the company’s innovation pipeline and medical advisory board, and oversees the Medical Affairs, Medical Operations, and Medical Education teams in addition to assessing innovative treatments and products that will help shape the future of Ideal Image.

Prior to joining Ideal Image, Dr. Margarella served as a senior medical director and medical affairs leader, directing operational and global medical and regulatory strategies at both well-known aesthetics pharmaceutical companies and disruptive biotech startups. She most recently served as Senior Medical Director at Endo Aesthetics. Previously, she was Director of Global Scientific Education and Training at Allergan Aesthetics, where she was responsible for the company’s facial portfolio. Dr. Margarella has also served as Vice President of Global Medical Affairs at Thermi and Director or Scientific Strategy at Suneva Medical.

Dr. Margarella holds a medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in general surgery at NYU Langone Lutheran Medical Center as well as fellowship training in cosmetic surgery at Southern Surgical Arts. She also holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Chemistry from NYU-Polytechnic (now Tandon) School of Engineering.

Dr. Garrett Gause attended Gordon College in Massachusetts and earned a degree in Business and Economics. After owning and running his own business for twelve years, he attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, FL.

Dr. Gause completed his residency in Family Medicine with USF and was Board Certified in Family Medicine. He was in private practice before joining Ideal Image in 2006 as Director of Medical Affairs and then Vice President of Medical Affairs. He helped lead Ideal Image through the complexity of COVID before moving into an advisory role in 2020.

Dr. Gause continues to serve Ideal Image as a trusted member of the Medical Advisory Board, as Medical Director in Tampa, and in other roles. He has been instrumental in developing and expanding Ideal Image to the multi-center, premier medical spa that it is today.

Dr. Lieber has been with Ideal Image since 2007. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2000 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Since 2003, he has been board-certified in Emergency Medicine and working as an attending physician with a private emergency medicine group in Milwaukee, WI.

In addition to his clinical work, he has served as department chief and chaired several quality and peer review committees. Dr. Lieber became interested in medical aesthetics early in his career and did additional training in laser hair reduction and injectables, after which he opened a skin care facility in 2004. He then sold this business and joined Ideal Image as medical director for their Wisconsin clinics in 2007.

Since that time, he has expanded his role with the company and serves as medical director for additional locations in Michigan and Illinois. His emergency medicine background proved indispensable during the COVID pandemic, during which time he joined the Medical Advisory Board.
